Not to steal a quote from Freddy lol. But seriously. In part 3 I always got the impression she hated Kristen and in 4 Kristen even says to her when 2 of your friends die in the same day let me know what it does to your appetite. Then Elaine has the nerve to say you're just tired. I mean really.

Yeah true. Giving her the sleeping pills was downright awful. I bet she felt guilty as hell when her daughter never woke up.

She was awful but I think Nancy's mom from the first movie was worse. Nothing impressed that woman! Her daughter pulled Freddy's hat out of a dream for God's sake and she still didn't believe her.

In Part 3 she was a terrible mother. It seemed as though Kristen was a burden to her. She was very self absorbed and cared more about meeting men than taking care of her daughter's needs. But in Part 4 I thought she seemed to care a bit more about Kristen and wanted to do what was best of her, like demanding she stay away from Nancy's old house. You could tell she finally cared about Kristen from the way she screamed when she was dying. So to answer your question I think she was a slightly better mother in Part 4 than in Part 3. What she thought was the best for Kristen just turned out to be the worst thing for her.
