My alltime favorite episode was the Niagara Falls rescue. These two women were out boating on Lake Erie and the sun set faster than they had anticipated, so they had to find their way back in the dark. They went the wrong way and plunged over a dam that controls the flow of water to Niagara Falls. For some reason they jumped out of their boat (which had landed upright) and the firefighters threw a rope to one of them. They lost track of the other one and everyone thought she went over the falls. Another group of firefighters searched the river and found her about 1000 feet from the brink. One of the firefighters tied a rope around himself and swam out to her, and then the other firefighters pulled them in. Just after they pulled her to safety, her abandonned boat went over the falls. I thought it was a really intense story.

I actualy got to see an episode from when this show came to my hometown in my con-law class that was an old tape where a man Chuck Stewart shot his wife in the head and killed her and shot himself in the stomach and claimed they were robbed and the gunmen just fired 2 shots or some thing. Then they revealed he was a suspect and he commited suicide

I remember all those, but one that terrified me as a child (cause I was a preteen when it was on)was a little boy home alone who had to hide under the bed and was on the phone whispering to the 911 operator about the men in his house. It was right around the time I became a latchkey kid and it scared the heck out of me. I was terrified for weeks every time somebody came to the door or the phone rang.

a young girl must call 9-1-1 when her father and brother are attacked by two burglars
a train conductor gaurds two small children from getting ran over by a train but a baby gets hit in the head with a plow
a girl must help her younger sister stop,drop and roll when her night gown catches on fire
a boy gets his arm sucked under a esclator
a mother and her two daughters must get out from the basement while their livining room is engaulfed by a burning christmas tree
a teenager is teaching her cousin{?} how to drive when the car stops on a railroad track during the winter and the rail doesnt come down and the car is hit by the train and her boyfriends father comes out to help
theres alot more i like but i cant think of them right now

Those were both on Rescue 911. The one where the guy dove in and hit the bottom was on Episode 519. They used a surf board to support his back without getting him out of the water. The teacher having a heart attack was on episode 423, that one is on youtube.

i dont really no if this is from rescue 911 but i remember a bunch of ppl at a river or lake and they dove in and hit the bottom

LOl, I feel so morbid because I do have favorite episodes!!
1- A girl is lost in a sewage tunnel and the rescuemen have to search for her
2- A kid was playing hide and go seek and decided to hide in the washer or dryer
3- (light hearted one) A woman thought that there was a burgular in her house. But it turns out that it was only a mannequin
4- A mom gets locked in the bathroom, and her kids are whining because they want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. (Funny, light one)

I know it wasn't air in the mattressduh. I wasn't sure exactly what was in it though, thats why I said "inhaled the contents"

I had those on tape and used to watch them over and over when I was very little. I cannot believe this was my favorite show as a child!! I would still love to find the tape of those 2 episodes so I could watch them though.

maybe i'm making this upi would've been very young when these were re-running (i was born in 1988) but the only thing i ever remembered about this show was there was a couple sitting on the couch watching tv in the dark. Then the lights started flashing and the dog started barking and it was a ghost. But if these were real it must've been something else that I'd misinterpreteddoes anyone recall anything even slightly similar?

Yup, I remember that one! And he tried to get away once he was rescued.

my most favorite episode is that one guy who tries to rob a home during christmas season. he tries to come down the chimney and gets stuck and shouts for help and the family was asleep so they wake up to see this guy dangling upside down from their chimney and he's yelling for help. they call the police and they keep asking him, "who are you, what do you want?" and he keeps yelling out "i'm santa, get me out of here." and as they watch as the cops try to find a way to get him out the mom takes his picture as he's hanging there upside down. afterwards, they get him out and he's taken away, in the end the lady said that picture became an awesome christmas card, she basically put the picture in the card and said, "hope you'll be hanging out with us during the christmas season" or something like that! when i saw that episode i was crying with laughter!

I used to watch this show all the time. There are so many I remember that I don't know which one's my favorite.

There are a lot more I can recall, but I don't wanna take up a whole page. I wish they would bring the show back on the Discovery Health Channel or even better, on DVD.

I just watched on where the guy had the plaster mask stuck on his face last night, I hadn't seen it in a while. I laughed when they were trying to walk him out of the room and he walked into the wall.

1 that springs to mind is the one about the skydiver with the bad parachute

God, so many memories.
I remember an episode where a young boys gets bitten by a rattlesnake and nobody realizes it at the time.
Also, the most memorable episode for me was one in which a small girl fell into a top-loading washing machine and died.
