The key to AC working is his race doesn't define his character. Mario's good acting performance defined the character and the writers/directors got the best out of him.

yea ac had the hair and the skin. I never thought he looked a 100% Hispanic. He might have some white in him. He looks a lot more white nowadays than the AC days which to me is a shame because we have a lot of people that look like that but nobody looks like AC which is a shame.

I disagree. I actually really really like the script. At the time and in many films you didnt see people being so real like with it being about getting into dancing though in reality there is a lot of skankiness going on and it's almost like the same thing as stripping which is frown upon.
Showgirls is well made. The direction is outstanding. Verhoeven is a great director, all the way back to his Dutch movies. The script from Joe Ezsterhas is a bit wank, though. He couldn't write a likable character if his life depended on it.

Yes what happened to Diamond's career is unfair. He was a very good actor on the show, he clearly had talent, and deserved to get some good roles after SBTB like Mark, Tiffani, Mario and Elizabeth did. He didn't deserve to vanish like he did. When you watch something good, be it TV show or film, it's because the writers, director and actors are all on the same page. There's nothing a show can do when all these things don't work. Things are crap nowadays because there simply are no talented writers, directors and especially actors anymore.
I can always sit back and rewatch almost anything even if it sucks and have a really good time, learn, and reflect. I think that's a sign of greatness. I really think rewatchable stuff has a strong appeal even if it's not epic or great but Saved by the bell is so highly rewatchable

It's only bullying if screech is being victimized. When did Zack victimize Screech? Screech is a willing participant in everything Zack does. They're friends. I for some reason really like Charasma. The 80s and 90s had a lot of them which is why I was literally glued on the tv for so long. Somehow after that in a good way I stopped being glued less and less but thats cause so many things sucked and nobody had charasma anymore. I think had they kept it the fun wouldve never ended and all from that era wouldve been billionares now. Will Smith for example. Though Will Transformed. I really did enjoy His Will Smith From The Fresh.

Yes that's the only reason the show worked. Characters had charisma, you rooted for them, they were fun to watch. Bad actors can't do that.

True. I think Mark-Paul is a more talented actor than most of the stars since the 90s, he just wasn't interested. He did a movie a few years ago with bruce willis, called Precious Cargo. He was very good in it.

You're right, he could've been a big actor, but as I've said, I think the cast are happy just to be starring on shows or whatever, rather than having almost no acting career whatsoever like some of the other SBTB actors.
Also, films and tv changed drastically in the early 90s after SBTB ended. The quality became poorer, people who were stars in the 80s, the two coreys for example, suddenly became forgotten in favor of inferior actors. It's a good thing just to see the guys from SBTB still around and acting. Just because they never became movie stars doesn't mean they aren't good actors.

I understand what you mean. Zack was more of a hotshot and AC was a little more grounded. AC was likable as a result, a different character to Zack. Any episode where AC has a dramatic plot like AC worrying about his future and and becoming a cook in home ec, I thought Mario handled it all very well. He was a character you liked and his wardrobe was great and I thought his back and forths with Jessie was funny as well, both actors did very well to create that relationship.
All of the actors did very well in this show. It was the key to it working so well. The show had the same director for almost the entire run, and they used the same pool of writers for every episode. That consistency was the key to everything working so well.

yea, only to switch it around. I always hated that segment and was one of the few times I wanted Zach to just punch the guy but he almost didnt. It was strange because if I remember correctly she ended up with him anyway but it was one of those instances where he almost let her go and was weak. I lost respect for him. He didnt fight for her and did all he could initially. The guy was so below her and Zach couldve easily topped him but he didnt. He sort of gave her away till the show sort of saved him and there was a story that he was a jerk. Dont remember if he was cheating or something and that's how he got her back which was also lame. I love Kelly, she was my No.1 but at many times in the show she just seemed like a spinster bimbo and was easily persuaded which is why I thought it made more sense had Slater won her since he wanted it more.
Mark dated Elizabeth in season 1. The stories about him and Lark vary, but I know him and Tiffani were very close as well. The girls would get upset at whichever one had Mark's attention. I'm not surprised they dated. They all had good chemistry.
