Pros

I liked the fogged-out pee-wee football game, reminds me of the Bears-Eagles playoff game in the late 80's that was so fogged out it looked like they were playing a cloud. At least the concussion jokes in this episode didn't have children bleeding from their skulls like in "Lisa The Veterinarian". I like that Kent Brockman wasn't intimidated by Nelson's abrasive dad.

I am a big college lacrosse fan so I was thrilled to see a Simpsons episode dedicated to the sport. Homer slicing oranges at a lacrosse game to me serves as an unintended tribute to how the Syracuse Orange were such a powerhouse in NCAA lacrosse for many years (and karmic retribution for "Homer The Moe" where Homer made Lisa and Bart work at his garage bar). I may have misheard them but I thought I heard the kids even reference Syracuse lacrosse legends Paul & Gary Gait.

Kirk ruining his pro career by excessive high-fiving was pretty funny. It reminded me of King Of The Hill where Hank ruined his football career by excessively celebrating after a touchdown and injuring his knee. There was a funny sight gag of Joe Theisman nauseated by Kirk's injury (it's not nearly as nauseating as Theisman's performance against the Raiders in Super Bowl XVIII).

Ah, it's so heartwarming to see Springfield's male citizens so eager to help Kirk by rescuing him from a strip club.

I love the poster in the hotel room reference Strupo from season 25's "War Of Art"

I heard the show was going to do a gag about Homer going to vote and finding Vladimir Putin attempting to vote for President. I'm glad it never happened because it did sound pretty lame. Whether you support Giant Douche Or Turd Sandwich, be sure to vote on Tuesday.

Best Line:
Julius Hibbert: There's the stripper-copter uh, I mean a helicopter I've never rented before.
Cons:

Why does Homer have to get everybody at the town hall to listen to Kirk? If Marge wants Kirk to have everybody's attention why doesn't she get off her butt and do it herself?

I don't know what's worse: the song Kirk made a mix tape of or the song Kirk & Homer sang. Either song makes "Can I Borrow A Feeling" sound like "Bridge Over Troubled Water"

I don't recall ever finding nosebleeds to be funny. At least Kirk's nosebleed wasn't as gross and over the top as Clyde's nosebleeds on Nickelodeon's "The Loud House".

I knew as soon as Homer said "those legs go on forever" that he was talking about chicken and not strippers. How predictable can you get?

The internet has created a lot of funny videos: Angry Video Game Nerd, Irate Gamer, Nostalgia Critic, Honest Trailers, Super Mario Logan but Kirk's internet video was almost as funny as a blank screen.
Tune into Fox November 13 for the premiere of The Simpsons' 603rd episode, Havana Wild Weekend. The Simpsons' quest to find medicine for Abe leads to a trip to Cuba.

I liked it that the kids became winners for once.
As that great philosopher Bugs Bunny said, "Something tells me I shoulda stood in bed."

I want to give the episode points for using an underused character, but Kirk Van Houten is pathetically unfunny. You can have a pathetic character and them be quite funny, like Hans Moleman, or irritating like Gil. Kirk is more like Gil.
Nelson's dad is back?!
Youth sports story where the kids themselves are largely ignored. Strange.

And Nelson's Dad IS FINALLY BACK?

I really enjoyed this episode. It didn't give a bad ending like the season premier.
I'm guessing we'll see more of the bits character now so the Simpsons won't run out of ideas.
That being said, the nosebleed joke was just bizarre. It feels like they're trying new stuff this year and yeah, it wasn't funny.
And KYLE-D, you're spot on.

After A Milhouse Divided I was hoping to never have to hear Kirk sing again. But other than that it was an enjoyable episode.
Thought the beginning was funnyfireworks are often overused during ceremonies and can it take longer than anticipated for the smoke to clear. I remember a number of football and baseball games having a short delay just because visibility was terrible.
Bart and Lisa trying to get Homer out of bed was funny tooI remember getting up at the crack of dawn on weekends but as an adult that's probably how you'd have to wake me up now.
The name Neutrinos gave me a flashback to the old Ninja Turtles cartoons.
I like that Homer admitted he simply doesn't like Kirk, but does respect him. He needed to hear that since his wife certainly doesn't.
Solid 7.5 or 8/10
Milo, I've told you again and again - please, don't walk on the chickens!

Why does Homer have to get everybody at the town hall to listen to Kirk? If Marge wants Kirk to have everybody's attention
why doesn't she get off her butt and do it herself
?
She hasn't had the best of luck at town hall meetings. She felt they wouldn't listen to her. Evidently she's known to be a wet blanket on occasion. They all assumed she would disapprove of bringing gambling to Springfield & they all grumbled when she stood up in
A Star is Burns
and while they liked her idea, when she offered her other ideas, they chanted "Don't push your luck". Also while not at the town hall, she was resoundingly down-voted about destroying La Maison Derrire, of course she was busy renting the bulldozer.

I give There Will Be Buds an IMDB rating of 7 out of 10
It's not a spectacular episode but it was good enough.
