<p dir="auto">My college newspaper ran the strip, and everybody hated it and complained that it was not in the least bit funny, and after a couple of years, the strip was withdrawn because of al of the complaints from readers.  I read the strip every week during that time and not only did I never laugh but my reaction was consistently one of confusion because the strip was not only not funny but it made no sense.<br />
James L Brooks has said that he asked Matt Groening to make cartoons for the Tracey Ullman Show because he loved the comic strip.  I've always wondered what the hell James Brooks must have been smoking at the time, because "Life In Hell' is literally one of the worst things I've ever read.</p>

I have look at some of the comics out of curiosity, but they seem kind of lame.</p>
