Al Gore was robbed of the presidency by a butterfly ballot in Florida that saw 20,000 votes go to Buchanan by mistake. Had he got all his votes, he would have carried Florida and the presidency.
Bush represented War and the decline of America.

Given that Bush and Trump are both conservative, you might be right.
Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath watch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

I always think of the Simpsons joking in 2000 that Trump is a president of the future. What a bizarre future the people of 2000 have. Again, an alternative reality.
Had Bush lost, perhaps Al Gore would have gotten 8 years and it would have swung to the Republicans in 2008 against Obama or Hilllary. It would be unlikely that Trump would have been able to get the nomination back then, so if a republican won, it hopefully would have been a good president. 8 years after that, probably a democrat would run, maybe even Obama in 2016. Interesting to think how things would have been different by changing just one voting ballot in one county.

I have to agree with you.
Our current reality is so frightening it could be a B Movie horror plot.
