Was checking out the Batman FAQ page here and came across this answer regarding why the Batman insignia is different in the movie versus all other promotional art. A valid question.
"Why does Batman's insignia on his chest look different?
The front cover of the DVD case, the Batwing, and the Bat Signal all have an image of the traditional Bat insignia. However, on his chest, it looks different because there are two additional spikes at the bottom."
Well no sh!t! Who's the lunkhead who answered this question? The question isn't what's different about the insignia, it's Why is it different.
Rant over.
So why is the insignia different in the film versus all other promotional art?

Whoever wrote that FAQ answer seems to have the perception and logic of a robot.
