<p dir="auto">Am I right in thinking that the director kept arguing with Freddie Francis over his cinematography, and yet it was Francis who got the Oscar?<br />
I'm sure I saw that on a TV programme once.<br />
Any ideas?</p>

<p dir="auto">Yes a truly great cinematographer. Yes the Director kept complaining that the film looked "OLD FASHIONED" and then Freddie went and won the Oscar. Scorsese insisted on using him for his first scope film Cape Fear.</p>
