I downloaded it on bluray last week and spent the entire week watching it. The movie is a masterpiece because of its grounbreaking technical execution and that is what draws you in, even till this day. The script is a different matter altogether, from the racist black crab, to the dumb jock prince, to the insufferable mess that is Ariel. But visually, an absolute masterpiece.

You must be 12 or deeply retarded.
You certainly must be, if you think 101 Dalmatians is a masterpiece.

Actually, I'm 26 years old, and I'm not retarded at all. If anything, I'm aspergers on the high-functioning side of the spectrum.

The Disney Stigmatism of the Prince began with Snow White
Hercules was probably the first film to shatter the image BUT too late with to little
Ariel though flawed is part of the reason for the films "brilliant execution"
At the time in 1989 Ariel was new concept for Disney Sebastain was also SADLY Disney execs do not agree with this despite the fact those two being a big help in the Disney resurection
Just as Snow White is the reason WHY ANYONE.COUNTRY ETC HAVE animated films
And That's My Two Cents

I won't comment on Sebastian, but Eric's not a dumb jock, he's a sailor. You want an actual dumb jock more or less? Try Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. As far as Ariel, she's not insufferable at all. She helps out her friends when they were in need, saved the prince a few times (and he did in turn as well), among others. Heck, she even nearly sacrificed her own freedom and let Eric have Vanessa without even a fight, something not even the original version of the character did who deeply considered murdering the prince. You want someone who actually IS insufferable? Try Emperor Kuzco, or Merida, or even The Riddler or The Joker from the Arkham series.
Still, nice to see you are actually posting positives for the film this time around.
