The 2013 Dodgers had a stretch going 42-8. That is freaking insane. The 1975 Big Red Machine went 41-9. But, yeah, it doesn't happen often.

It's not that crazy. The 2015 Toronto Blue Jays were 50-51 when management acquired David Price, Troy Tulowitzki, Ben Revere and Mark Lowe. They ended up going 43-18 the rest of the way and ran away with the division title. And four or five of the losses came after they had clinched the title and we're playing out the schedule before the playoffs.

Winning the 1 game playoff only in the academic sense. To this day Matt Holliday still hasn't touched home plate.

The 2007 Colorado Rockies went 21-1 to finish the season and made the one-game playoff. Won that, the Divisional Series, the League series and went to the World Series. It CAN be done.

32 and 9 is what, about a .750 winning pct.? Winning at a 75% clip has been done before in 30-50 game spurts. Kinda rare though.
