it's a really odd phenomenon of the decade, but to me it sometimes seems that
as the decade went on,
the music got
cornier
and
CORNIER.
that this soundtrack came out just
FIVE
(5!)
YEARS before, say, the still contemporary-sounding (to me, anyhow) largely symphonic music from another Police Procedural,
"Speed"
, is astounding.
"Silence of the Lambs"
also has music which holds up
remarkably
well to my ears, was what? TWO YEARS later??
The point i'm
trying
to makesomewhat unsuccessfully, i'm afraidis that
THIS
film's Soundtrack is
HILARIOUSLY
dated. take,
for example
, the cue which plays during the bit where Kurt Russell's character's simply driving into his garage - it plays to
me
like some demented, nightmarish Circus from
HELL
; can you
possibly
imagine listening to this stuff on it's OWN?
i don't even know who composed this mess, as it's kinda better
not knowing.
i would imagine that it's someone of little reputeDisastrous.
