My problem with this film is that I spend the first third being irritated by all the characters whilst fixating on Laura San Giacomo. Then somewhere along the way it starts to get interesting and I feel I need to watch it again to see what I missed at the beginning. But I leave it for a while - which becomes years - and, if I get past the start (because I think I've just given up in the past) it ends up as a repeat experience. Ah well - so it goes.
I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers - and the bastards let me down!

I think I'm thinking of Bad Influence.
He's a great actor, but James Spader has rubbed me the wrong way since seeing him in Pretty in Pink. He's very good at playing creeps, I'll give him that.

That's kind of debatable. but I guess you could say he's not a bad guy. He certainly stirs up a lot of ****.

Fair enough. I guess I watch it mainly for Laura San Giacomo and her ludicrously sexy voice. But apart from that I think something changes when we see Andie MacDowell being recorded - unfortunately that's a long way in.

It never gets gets really interesting and I only watch it for a young and truly beautiful James Spader.
