If you think it would have been easier for Nader to get 48 million Gore votes had Gore not run, than Gore to get the couple hundred votes in Florida he need to win the presidency had Nader not run, then you're not thinking straight. Biden generally fared slightly better than Bernie in hypothetical 2020 matchups, although polls showed that they could both beat Trump.
