I don't get at all why many rate this one low. It's a top notch action movie, it's almost as good as Die Hard 1. Die Hard with a Vengeance is certainly not better than Die Hard 2.

Relative to new movies it doesn’t suck. Relative to 1 and 3, it sucks dick.

Iv'e always liked this movie. It's not as iconic as the first, but the setting, tone, score, and characters are on-par with the original. Captures it perfectly. Modern action movies are just so fake and digital.
First 3 are awesome.
I think we're just programmed to think sequels automatically suck.

Die Hard wins for me, that film is a full blown masterpiece. 2 and 3 are excellent sequels. That’s it, Die Hard is a Trilogy.
Those dreadful impostor ‘sequels’, starting with the remarkably gay PG-13 Live Free, do not count.

The first 3 movies are great. I have a hard time picking a favorite. It's a shame the movies after were so bad.

Die Hard 2 is amazing. The first film is… perfect, but this is a
damn
good sequel. Over time people have realised how great it is and it’s sitting at a pretty respectable 7.2 on imdb.
I’d give it a solid 9/10, I’m torn as to which is Renny Harlin’s greatest film - this or Cliffhanger 🤔
