That scene with the fighter pilot taking a missile hit for the president's plane is the worst thing I've ever seen in an action movie.</p>

<p dir="auto">No surprise. The first two Die Hard movies were a template for every action movie in the 90s. They copied the posters, the character types, set pieces, but especially the 'lone wolf against the odds' story eg Under Siege, Sudden Death, Passenger 57, Air Force One etc etc. Just all Die Hard movies in another setting.</p>
