Westies were Irish, but I wouldn't call them Irish mob. These guys were brutal and had no rules. The Wanderers had a gang in the movie that echoed their craziness.

Sleepers has two characters who were Westies. The mob wouldn't even try these guys.
Road to Perdition is another good movie.
