Seen numerous times and still confused on why Paul would have to write a story line on Misery returning from the dead? Wasn't that the book that they burned? So her death would have never happened to the public/fans. Why did he have to write about that in the book he wrote at the house? Did I miss something ?

Yes. In the most recently published Misery book, Misery dies. That's what gets Annie so upset, and it's why she forces Paul to write a new Misery book and make it so that Misery never really died.

Yes Fast Cars was Paul's newest novel that he just finished. Paul thought ending the Misery book series and writing Fast Cars would give him the credibility and respect from the publishing world that he felt he wasn't getting.
So while Paul was at Anne's recovering from his crash. He let Anne read the book. She didn't like it because it wasn't a Misery book and the swearing. Later Anne came home with the new Misery book, "Misery's Child." And we all know how that ends out when Anne finished reading the book.
But if I remember right. It's been almost 30 years when I read the book. Paul didn't burn the Misery book that Anne made him write. He hid that book and burned a fake book. When Paul was rescued, he took the Misery book the he wrote and had it released as "Misery's Return." Because Paul though that it was a good book.

Ok thanks, so the "Misery" book in witch she already died. Was already published and out? I thought that might be the case. But burning of book kinda made it seem like that was the book. Thanks

He burned his new book that had nothing to do with Misery. Annie didn't like it (it had too much swearing, it wasn't Misery, etc) so she made Paul burn it.
After she read the latest Misery book which kills off the Misery character, Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery book just for her.
