I cherished this movie as a kid. I hardly watched the first one, this is the one I remember with the bird man and the waterfall. Thats what I miss about watching movies as a kid I never saw them as good or bad I just watched it and enjoyed it. This and Labyrith (sp?) with bowie in it. haha.
In retrospect yes, its terrible but its still sentimental to me and so I love it. Doesnt anyone feel the same?

Nope. Loved the movie at the time and still think it's a great movie now.

It is flawed in a lot of aspects but I do love this purely for sentimental reasons as I grew up watching this as a child.
I wouldn't dream of having this remade out of respect but if they did re-visit this world, this world has a lot more potential considering the latest tripe in children's films nowadays. A lot of them lacking imagination.. as long as the re-visitation isn't overwrought.

I loved it and the original and still do. No shame.
I still think this movie is, in many ways, more interesting than a lot of children's movies out today.
