As the sitcom staple, the character too stupid to function if the show was real, Cody seemed to get most of the best lines, and always delivered them in a "surfer dude" voice.

Yeah! It was crazy, like suddenly the audience, especially the girls loved when Cody came into the house! I think that the creators and producers never expected that. I think that once they saw he was getting popular with girls and they'd scream when he first had a scene, they were on to something!

Well, the studio auidence cleraly thought differently, they always cheered and applauded loudly when he entered.

I think the whole "I'm Cody, I'm dumb, I talk like a surfer" schtick got old after a few episodes!
