I just finished watching this. I believe I saw it decades ago, but had long forgotten it.
The characters made absolutely horrible decisions at every turn. The cinematography was bizarre, with ridiculous zoom-in effects, strange framing, and other bits that make it extremely dated. Terrible special effects, even for the time, and corny sound effects didn't help any.
The one and only good thing about this film is the villain.

The cinematography is very much a throw back to older Noir/Thrillers. The score accompanied that theme quite well.
