Even though this film is kinda crappy there are a few decent parts like:

the opening 'wizard of oz' homage - could have done without Freddy as wicked witch of the west though - too camp

Carlos - he was likeable and the actor was better than the others

Carlos death/ear trauma - I'm not usually effected by gore but that long ear bud going into his head and coming out the other side is brutal, it makes me feel ill, very memorable scene

the scene with teenage Freddy and his stepdad - the actor playing Freddy was creepy and did a good job

Young Maggie - I liked her scenes

that fake looking Boy Scout (?) statue in Springwood - I wanted it to come alive in one of the dream sequences

the last 3rd seemed much better directed/edited than the first 2/3

soundtrack was cool

The Opening Nightmare is everything the Nightmare on Elm Street Series should be

I like this movie for the most part. I think the scene with Tracy and her father is another of the good scenes in addition to all the ones you mentioned. It is a sad, uncomfortable moment but it shows you why she is the way she is and makes you feel sorry for her.
