I don't remember much of this movie because I watched this at like, 12 AM and I was tired. However what I do remember is waking up and watching Freddy exploding in a beep green screen shot, and then the heroes saying something like "Yeah! We did it!" and then the credits rolling.
That's an awful ending! It's so abrupt and anti-climatic!

Yeah. The movie hadn't been great before, but that really put the nail in the movie's coffin.

What they say is the title of the movie. You're right about it being abrupt. I guess the makers had gotten so used to the saga's cliffhangers endings that they had forgotten about closure.
