As usual, instead of hitting targets with well-aimed single shots thugs saturate whole area with bullets and although in most of the shots you will see guards, trying to avoid bullets, in the last scenes they sat absolutely without movements.

Aye, Alexander and his guys probably killed them when they opened fire, just to cement how ruthless they were. A little later somebody speaks a line to the effect of "they killed their own guys trying to get us" to further drive the point home.
