Or at least been seriously injured in the first accident when she fell out of the car. The vehicle was going at a high speed and she would not have lost that speed and would have crashed against the rocks at high speed without the protective effects of the car.
Also, pretty weird that they subverted the "explosive car" trope in the original accident but used it in the final one. She must have bought the "fireball" option on her Mercedes.
