The theme could not have been better. I wouldn't leave the theater until the entire piece had finished. I bought the cd and have been listening to it ever sincenow on my iPhone.

The soundtrack is awesome, indeed. I own it. This is such a great movie and it takes place in San Francisco (where I'm from) Probably the most beautiful city in the world. Saw this in theaters and loved it - made me want to go back home. Great acting!
Those really ARE blueberries, ma'am

It has a nostalgic, ethereal and dreamlike theme. The score is also mysterious, suspenseful and well combined with electronic elements.

Yep, from something like Back to the Future to Delta Force and then he comes up with this. He made it very reminiscent (without being too out-dated) of noirish scores of the 40s and 50s with the chaotic violins but with some moody synth to keep it current. The opening and closing theme is like great soft rock.
"If I had ya where I wanted ya, they'd be pumpin your ass full of formaldehyde!"

Watched it recently and Alan's soundtrack is indeed superb and befits the mood entirely-noirish music at its best !
