Hi I was a long-time fan of
Are You Being Served,
and I even have a VHS copy of their reunion program, when the main characters got together and talked about the "old" days of the series. So I'm very interested in hearing about this new
Grace and Favour
video.
But I have one question, of those of you who have seen the video: Do they still have the running gag about the ladies' LEGS? If you recall the old department store series, in just about every other episode, they'd find some excuse for Miss Brahms (Wendy Richard) to raise her skirt and show off her legs.
As the series ran on and Ms. Richard got a little older, the producers found other ways to insert that same gag. Joanna Lumley, who would become one of the stars of
Absolutely Fabulous
, stopped by and showed off her legs in a 1973 episode as a perfume salesgirl. In later years, Mr. Rumbold would have a variety of different secretaries, all of them young and pretty and eager to show off their legs. Young Mister Grace also had a secretary who did that, quite a bit.
So, my question is: Does the video
Grace and Favour
, with the former
AYBS?
characters, continue that same running gag? About the legs, I mean.
Dan N.
English subtitles
are a
MUST
on all DVD releases!

In several episodes the ladies have either short skirts or have to raise their skirts. Although considering the obvious age of the characters it's not because it's sexy anymore.
