How do you figure that he cheated his way to the top, there was no where in the movie that said a person couldn't even wish to become a prince

Because Aladdin had, more or less, cheated his way to the top, and now realized that he was going to have responsibilities and that he might still need the Genie for the future. Thus, Aladdin went back on his word, so even if he would've changed his mind then and there, the Genie wouldn't listen to him.

He pretty much explained why he couldn't free the genie which caused a fight between the two and then a mean comment aimed toward Abu and the carpet before Iago came and took the lamp. Go watch it again.

I've always felt it was because he might be needing to use his 3rd wish for something else hence why he refused to wish the Genie free.

As little as I feel inclined to respond to such a childishly written post, I suppose I will.
Aladdin was afraid of becoming Sultan. He'd been dishonest he hadn't been raised in royalty and was unsure of what now would be expected of him and also selfish, since the possibility of him needing Genie's help to continue his charade came before the wants of his friend.
You're making it seem like it was wrong of Aladdin to act the way he did, and that's exactly what the writers wanted.

Well pretty much expect for by that time it was too late anyways because Jarfar regonzied the lamp and knew he really was Aladdin. Come on put tow and two together did you really think Jafar sent out more then one boy to get the same lamp.
