Bought this about 12 years ago in a dollar store movie bin lol, wasnt that bad, had some cheesy moments to laugh at. Doesnt deserve this high of a rating IMHO, def dont pay full price for it.

No point in arguing with someone who did not bother to think about what this film was really about. But the money is worth discussing.
First of all, it's NY, therefore, in all probablity, the guy was Puerto Rican, not Mexican. But since we don't have absolute confirmation, let's just say he was Latino.
Since one of the first scenes was LT trying to swipe a bag of coke without turning it in, I thought Mr. Cigar Box had been selling a similar misplaced package for LT and they were splitting profits. Anyone have a better idea?

I completely agree. This is coming from someone who "knows art" as compared to the people "who don't". It is very slow, and hard to get into; don't know why the mexican guy just gave him $30,000 for no reason?; he did not redeem himself; Harvey Keitel naked is not a pretty sight; and the only "acting" Keitel is actually doing is screaming in the same pitch in a few scenes sometimes for minutes at a time.
Not only did the movie give me a headache, but it also made me want to put a grenade in my mouth and blow my head in 150 different directions. I think I have mental issues after watching this movie. It sucks that bad.
Also a 92' film with Keitel in the lead, I'd suggest Reservoir Dogs instead of this piece of garbage.

I find this film to be highly entertaining as a black comedy.

If this is one of the worst films you have ever seen, I can only assume that you have not seen that many movies.

What the hell are you talking about?! This is Harvey Keitels Best leading actor performance in film history!!! (For Christ sakes he won the Indiependent Spirit Award for Best Actor in a leading Role) whereas Steve Buscemi who played Mr.Pink in Reservoir Dogs also won the same award not in Keitels category but for best actor in a supporting role!!!!!

People not liking a film does not make them a troll, though I often wonder why people come to message boards of films they despise to bash them. Seems like something born of jealously, they don't understand why others like the film and it bothers them so they react with hostility. Instead of actually just not liking a film where you would not waste your time on a message board, I don't know. As for the film itself like someone else said it is meant to be unpleasant its not supposed to even be enjoyable to watch its for students of film and art (and no I don't mean that literally).

All this crap about it being arty and you have to look deeper into it, blah blah blah!
Should've cut out all the dramatic silences and stupid noises, then condensed it in to a half hour programme to be shown on BBC4.
