I am surprised by the relatively low rating as I find it entertaining even after a few viewings. Without one of the best actors of all time - Kurt Russell as Captain Ron - the movie would fall on its face, but with him, it is funny and entertaining.

It was forgotten about when it came out,due to being an independent film despite Russell and Short. But it was really not that bad and it is a good film and time capsule for the period.

It's a classic in my opinion, too. One of the best comedies of that era, along with, and in the vein of, films like
Down and Out in Beverly Hills
.

i hadn't seen this since i was a kid and i didn't expect much, but it's actually alot of fun, and russel and short has great chemistry togheter, i don't think i've ever seen the broads anywhere else though, the mother and daughter looked more like sisters sometimes, i guess that's a common sight in entertainment productions. notice russel wears an eyepatch just like in the "escape from" movies. i think they could have done without the twists towards the end.
where were you when i could have needed you,
today i couldn't care less,
you heat an empty chair that i left,
now for your own gain,
you step into my game,
but don't give me that bull,
where were you back when i could have needed you,
you were part of putting me down,
observing the moves but leaving me to die,
went ahead and take away everything for wich he strive,
now it suits you to sit down and use a finished game,
go ahead and play i couldn't care less today.

It's a classic in my family, whenever it's on TV my dad and I are glued to the screen, laughing at every line.
