I was hoping Gene Siskel would call out the fact that both Steve and Goldie are about 15-20 years too old for their parts. She was a college student? Umshe was 47. I'm not decrying older actors. I'm in that age demographic, so I would love to see more older actors get good parts. There are way too many parts wasted on young women playing older. And I was happy to see that the two romantic leads are the same age for once. Usually, the man can be 20 years older than the woman and nobody blinks an eye. But this was just a wrong fit. I think the movie would have been much better with different actors, or with a slightly different plot to account for their ages and the lives they must have lived.
