Even weirder still: they all died in their 60's, which is kind of on the younger side nowadays and aside from that just weird that it was all within the same decade of their lives. Joe Pesci has already survived the curse but if I were the remaining cast members, I'd be real nervous in my 60's.

Several years ago, I saw a "strange disappearance" type show (can't for the life of me remember the name of it), and the victim was a writer or producer or some kind of executive on
My Cousin Vinny
. He left a city in the middle of the country (don't remember which one or what state) bound for California. He never made it. They searched but there was no sign of anything, not even his car. Eventually, however, a vehicle would be found in a concrete aquaduct. He evidently fell asleep at the wheel and the car just happened to careen down an access to the water where he perished. Does anyone know who this was? I've done searches on Google and Wikipedia, but nothing comes up.

Hard to believe you never saw him as "Herman Munster".
Fred Gwynne
was
Herman Munster; the two are inseparable.
I often wonder if he loved that role or later regretted it.

I agree with what you say, definitely.
What I was saying is that it's a shame he is only known for that "fluff" role.
When as an actor he was so much more than simply that.
But, no one out there really knows it.
Everyone just thinks of him as Herman Munster, period. Nothing else.

It's really a shame that Fred Gwynne's name has become synonymous with the "Herman Munster" character.
I don't think it's a shame at all. Fred Gwynne's wonderful talent as an actor and his genuine, warm and kind persona are what made Herman Munster so lovable and what keeps that character so beloved even to this day.
