That type of joke deserves a better set up and punchline in the movie.</p>

I forget, because it has been so long.<br />
But, if I remember correctly, they never got much into the "back story" of the second defendant, the Jewish kid.<br />
Right?<br />
We got quite a bit of back story on the Ralph Macchio character, since he was Vinny's nephew.<br />
But I don't recall much  if anything  about the background and back story of the Jewish friend and accomplice.</p>
