I mean, look at Meg Ryan and Alec Baldwin!!! They both look absolutely stunning and attractive in this movie, and Meg Ryan to this day STILL looks terrific.but look at Alec Baldwin nowadays!! Isn't it tragic?? I mean, this guy was one of the best looking males ever, I thought. Today he's old and pathetic!!!! isn't it normally the male gender that ages better???
Would like to know how Meg Ryan does it..whatever it is, I want it too!!!

I know this is an old post, however, have you seen what Meg Ryan looks like in 2016? First of all I really hate these types of posts, since women and men should be able to gracefully grow old without criticism. However, as a response to your post, I find that Alex has faired better vs. Meg over the years. It is too bad that Meg had too much cosmetic surgery done; but I am sure that she felt pressured by the Hollywood crowd.

Watched part of this the other day and seeing how fresh and stunning Meg Ryan looked made me sad for the way she looks now. Why did every actress in Hollywood decide to jump on the "duck lips" train? Meg's original lips were somewhere between average and thin, but they were a cute, upturned shape that balanced beautifully with her face. The puffy lips she paid for are bloated and weird-looking and don't look remotely natural.
Unless you are born with them, like Angelina Jolie, your facial structure isn't correct for large lips and they look very unnatural, especially when you are talking, smiling, etc.

I hate to say it, because women tend to be single out far too often for their looks, but Alec Baldwin has aged far better than Meg Ryan. Admittedly, I might not have said so fifteen years ago as Baldwin blew up quite quickly, but now that I have had over a decade of getting used to a rather chunky Alec Baldwin I can say that he still looks pretty darn good, and some men, John Travolta and Baldwin bring too such examples, do tend to wear that added weight quite well. Sadly Ryan hasn't aged gracefully and is the victim of bad plastic surgery. She'd be much more attractive allowing herself to get a little plump, like Baldwin, rather than messing up her face the way she has done.

no. That does not, as a rule, happen.
What happens is that some people, obsessed with their own image, harass THEMSELVES in this manner, then pursue all sorts of diets, regimens and surgeries that rob them of their health and youth.
If someone is harassing you because you are 5 pounds too thin or too large, you need to find a better class of people with whom to comport yourself.
Seriously.

Guys are allowed to get fat. And bald. Sean Connery was still playing action roles in his 60s - AND getting girls 30 years younger than he was.
Women? They're harrassed if they're too skinny. They're harrassed if they're too fat. (Like, 5 pounds too fat.)
Is it any wonder women develop anorexia, and have those plastic surgeries, when they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Speaking of ages, I'll take this thread in a bit of a different direction. I was jarred to find cutie Patty Duke pay Meg Ryan's mom, as if she'd had the kid in junior high. Though her playing Alec Baldwin's mother-in-law was even more of a jolt, as she's only a dozen years older than him.
