Showtime is showing this now, so I just watched for the first time in many years. If its possible, this film gets even worse with time. The screenplay wobbles from completely uninteresting to LOL funny (not in a good way). The main problem is this film clumsily teeters between the 1980s ethos of yuppie materialism and the 1990s ethos which was unknown to the film makers, (the performance art of Fisher Stevens?) I don't think so! It fails on both counts and I have to say the Rae Dawn Chong character is just a disaster all the way around. The writers didn't do her career any favors here, as this was arguably the last major part she got. She will always be remembered as an 80s actress anyhow. I'd bet anything Sandy Bullock wishes this stinker would vanish.
It should be pointed out that this film never had a theatrical release, and was "straight to video" in those days. This means it was probably screened for distribution and never picked up (I believe thats how the Indusrty worked in those days). The film was resurrected when and only when Sandra Bullock became a big star in the late-90s. Otherwise, this film would be completely forgotten.
