The show was not really about his job, granted, but the tossed salad and scrambled eggs are a reference to his phone in show.

-refers to patients with troubles calling into the radio show

"But maybe I seem a bit confused
"-Frasier's personality was a bit????

-Frasier does understand these people and helps them.
