What exactly was the big deal? Once her curiosity was sated, Connie was more than willing to back off. But if her biological daughter seeks

out (cafe scene), that's a different matter. And even if the occasional cafe meeting is somehow verboten, Jennifer was only a few years from her 18th birthday (e.g., the point at which point she can do whatever she wants, even if her adopted parents don't like it).
Why were none of these things addressed?
