When carpenter wants to be serious about being scary, he is among the very best. There's great tension in the "Gas Station" story. On the flip side, he has also struck me as a filmaker that likes to play around maybe to amuse himself even if no one else gets his humor. This is evident with the "Hair" segment.
I love these kinds of movies though

Gosh!!! Even the director said "THIS IS NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE", its so easy to see they are not zombies, simply causethey are not dead!

thanks for the link to the flick chicks horror picks but I had to stop reading from laughing so hard because of this line in her review of 28 Days Later "..simply the best zombie movie I have ever seen.."
