UnAmerican on many levels. I've read reports that what communities pay for enforcing vagrancy laws, and cost of services for the homeless, far surpasses what it would cost to provide them basic/permanent shelter. And the fact that many of the homeless are veterans is infuriating.

The vagrancy laws exist on a subterfuge level, to express scorn and disdain for something the elitist establishment don't care to fix, nor do they even care about it.
They would rather make up other useless and conflated distractions to pretend that there isn't a problem like homelessness, which is after all, one of societies worst issues, when shelter from the elements is essential for the human condition.
