<p dir="auto">Because if the gun was empty he would have given himself away and they'd both have been shot anyway, the option of the gun being empty was always there so he didn't know.</p>

<p dir="auto">Frank cannot possibly know whether the gun was empty for sure. But if the gun really had bullets in it, he would have to do it anyway. Because If he don't, they will. And it will kill both of them.</p>

<p dir="auto">To me, the gun wasn't empty by chance. A clever bad guy wouldn't want his new business partner to have a murder on his hands the day they start making business, especially as he isn't a killer. It wouldn't be professional. I think Frank may have thought the same thing.</p>
