I have and it was great. It is sad though and more shocking then in the film. I wonder if anyone else read it and what their reaction is or was of it.

Yeah but Hemingway's motivation for writing wasn't to make an entire population look like fools. This bigot was entirely more terrible than a bipolar man with a wide birth of amazing material.

So? Hemingway was a womanizing, drunk with bipolar issues but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great writer.

I have never read the book, but I do know that the author, Jack Engelhard, is a bigoted, extremist right-wing Zionist who wrote it as an allegory about how Israel was "selling itself" to the Palestinians. He is also proud of having been paid a lot of money for the film rights despite the fact that all of his vile allegory ended up being taken out of this god-awful movie.

Well the rich guy filmed the whole evening, Josh dealt with psychological issues on the whole thing, he is Jewish and the rich guy is Arab and OH Joan was a rich girl who left her lavish life for love. Plus Josh and Joan were married to other people when they met, they had an affair which lead to their divorce and started their own lives together till that billionaire came along.

No, why specifically was it more shocking than the movie? I don't think I'll ever read this book so go ahead and spoil it for me if you don't mind.
