One thing that always bothers me about this ending is that Andy and Tracy live next door to these people and don't know that the child is blind??? And she works with kids?? Or am I being toooo perdantic????
Or is it supposed to be an example of her/their self-absorbtion??

Sorry no offence, but that is a bit ambiguous.
I was actually replying to the post above me.
I can't remember what it was now, but it was deleted by an IMDb administrator, sooo ?

I was just thinking this the last time I saw "Malice" (a week ago)that it was a contrivance so that Tracy could be caught in her murder plot.
Then, I realized that it takes place in Massachusetts, and like most New Englanders, Andy and Tracy do not makes friends quickly. They are new to the neighborhood, as has been said, and in this neck of the woods, it can take decades to become friendly with locals.
I get the impression that Andy is too busy with the college and chasing rapists, while Tracy is busy plotting her scam with "Dr. Lilienfield", shuttling between her cookie-baking and trips to Cape Cod, to notice what a little boy is doing. (By the way, there is no cliff like the one by Dr. L's/Jed's house on the Cape, that I know of!).
She deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die.

they just moved in, and had not even had time to put up curtains. maybe if they had lived there a while, but still i dont know most of my mine. have no idea if they even have kids. but they could have left that part out. it wasnt important and made it kinda cheesy

Good one! As the saying goes "there is none so blind, as those who will not see". She was very self-absorbed and I don't know how she thought she was going to get away with with Jed's murder. But the plot had descended into farce by that time, for me.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.

The irony of your misspelling PERDANTIC humours me.
But Yes - I too thought that plot point to be quite forced and manufactured. Of course without it, you wouldn't have an ending.

I think because the little boy is often sitting at his window, Andy and Tracy have both tricked themselves into thinking that he's watching/snooping on them.
"What person who is nothing like me are you saying that to?" - House
