The fact is, the audience is told or shown nothing about O-Dog's life, other than his hanging-out time and criminal activities. We know nothing about his parents, guardians or siblings, and unless I missed it, he never refers to any. Are he and Caine both only children?
He does have SOME socialization, because he catches himself using profanity when addressing Caine's grandfather and checks it. I think he also calls the old man "sir."
