What's a bigger climax to a baseball movie than scoring a homerun? Considering Benny gained his reputation as being a runner, I'd say stealing home was the truest way to end the movie.

Yeah this is technically true, other people pointed inaccuracies cited in the film like the dates the first blacks were able to play in the MLB and stuff like that, but obviously the film is not about things like that. When I was a kid I thought all of the "where are they now" stories were true, I used to think it was amazing that almost all of those kids grew up to be so significant people. Now I know it is unfortunate that 99.9% of us just fade into obscurity.
