<p dir="auto">I think there were other more believable ways to show Benny had something left in the tank. Stealing home is hard to a player in his prime. Benny would have been well over 40 assuming the end takes place in 1993.</p>

<p dir="auto">What's a bigger climax to a baseball movie than scoring a homerun? Considering Benny gained his reputation as being a runner, I'd say stealing home was the truest way to end the movie.<br />
So many stories, so little time.</p>

<p dir="auto">Yeah this is technically true, other people pointed inaccuracies cited in the film like the dates the first blacks were able to play in the MLB and stuff like that, but obviously the film is not about things like that.  When I was a kid I thought all of the "where are they now" stories were true, I used to think it was amazing that almost all of those kids grew up to be so significant people.  Now I know it is unfortunate that 99.9% of us just fade into obscurity.</p>
