.where a girl stabs herself in the stomach, and then "wakes up" in some sort of supernatural/magical place where it turns out that by doing so she passed some sort of "test," or something? I caught this scene on TV in the mid 90's and have been trying to figure out what movie it was from for ages - I posted on the "need to know" board and someone suggested it may have been from this movie. Would love to know for sure. 🙂

That sounds like this film. The girl would be Paula Marshall. If you look at youtube, you should be able to determine if this is the film.
