anyone seen the british film withnail and i it has ralph brown who plays del preston in waynes world 2 in it playing a character called danny, but the character is essentially del preston, both characters wear the same style of clothes, same hair, same accent, same personality and same actor.
was this done on purpose by the creators of ww2 or just a coincidence

Not a coincidence, in fact if you look at Del's flat when the boys meet him for the first time, the flat is modelled on the flat that Withnail and Marwood stayed in. Check the mantelpiece (fireplace), similar clock, pictures and niknaks. Same voice and character.

I'm just watching Wayne's World. And when I heard him speak U was like: "that voice, that accent! I heard it somewhere before." And then it hit me! Withnail and I! I love that movie and his character is hilarious.
So I went to check his IMDB profile to confirm it was the same actor.
But then I wondered (as I don't remember that actor from anywhere else) does he really talks like that, or was he doing the same character from Whitnail and I.

This must've been done on purpose as the characters are exactly the same. I have to say though that although the characters are exactly the same it was funnier in Withnail & I when both he and Richard E Grant were trying to out do each other in their drug taking ability.
