It is beautifully played by Matthew Perry. He definitely has a bigger range than many give him credit for. Yes he is great at the comedic stuff, but this is a perfect example of his ability with pathos as well.
Hello there!

Ok so I am an awful person, because I cringe at that scene every time, its too cheesy, and although its only a programme this episode makes me really cross because of how selfish Monica is.
Doesn't give two hoots that poor unsuspecting Erica has no idea who they are, and yet she is willing to take her child from her without affording her the respect and honesty that she deserves, and is most definitely owed.
That is how I view this episode sadly.

It's funny because I always just saw that as being something sweet, until my husband and I went through it ourselves, and now I struggle to watch it because it absolutely nails that feeling of being parents without a child. We ended up being blessed with a daughter, but it still rips at my heart Everytime I watch it. It was beautiful writing, and acting from everyone

I just watched this episode-that line makes me cry every time! And I always think back to Chandler at the beginning of the show and how much he's grown.
