..especially as a third film, but watching it now, after 1 and 2, it just doesn't "feel" right. It's quite a shame too, because it has it's moments, but just a few things really hold it back. 1, the score, which even though it uses the classic bars of "Axel F" just does not suit the film like the last two did. 2, Murphy, who I admire in trying to elevate the character's development over the years, just went about it the wrong way. We do mature, but we never really lose our sense of style, humor and, well, CHARACTER, and he just doesn't act like Axel. He tried to make Axel someone else, and it shows. And lastly, as Landis admits to, he PUTS a serious Axel in funny situations but the first two films, Axel made a serious situation funny. Also, the love story felt a bit forced too, but I don't wanna be too nitpicky.
In the end, I give it a 5, it has it's moments but ultimately, it just doesn't FEEL like BHC. What say you??
Oh I travel, a sort of licenced troubleshooter.
