Jim Metzler plays Eli and Joshua's foster father. He has a pretty good supporting part of playing dear old daddy. He's just a middle class guy trying to make good for his adopted family. When he learns that Eli has grown a inpenetratable kind of corn he makes a deal with his company to sponsor the corn and send it all over the world.
Yes, his character does die! He is stabbed in the heart with a sickle by Eli (the leader and his adopted son) in this production.
By the way I do NOT know how in the world I have not responded to his post. Sorry it's 3 years late. LOL!
