I was wondering this. Jenny seemed to know she was dying. She might have thought just tell Forrest the kid is his so he would look after him.
A couple of reasons why I think Forrest is the father however, she named her son after him, and I think at some point Forrest would look at his date of birth and roughly work out the period that Jenny was staying with him, unless he was conceived soon after.

That's kind of how the terrible source material was. The coincidences were way more ridiculous. Same with Gump & Co., the sequel. He goes to space with a chimp in the first I think. Forrest is more like our Koik here. Much less likable than Tom Hanks.
