very weird and wrong casting. should have casted someone 10 years older than sally field for authenticity. so they ended up making her look a lot older by making her hair gray.

its' not what you say this is. this is wrong bc actors who are only 10 years older than other actors shouldn't be playing the mother or father of these actors who are only 10 years younger than them. like heather locklear playing drew barrymore's mother in firestarter.
yeah, and i remember thinking this is wrong and having a problem with the validity and realism of angelina jolie playing colin farrell's mother in alexander. that was so far fetched to the point of being ridiculously stupid. no wonder it was in one of the worst movies ever made.
if we didn't know the ages of actors then this might not be a problem but them giving us their ages and being humans we know how old they are in real life.
and they didnt' even make angelina jolie look that old in alexander. they made her look a little older than her age but not old enough to be the mother of colin farrell's character.

So what ?
in "Alexander" 29-year-old Angelina Jolie stars as the mother of 28-year-old Colin Farrell.
in "Kinsey" 59-year-old John Lithgow plays the domineering father of 52-year-old Liam Neeson.

so she went down in age in lincoln huh, interesting. i love how she after all these years still got a part in a big steven spielberg movie a few years ago, in lincoln. that shows that she has talent as an actress that is recognized and appreciated and that also shows that spielberg likes her.

Not the only strange age gap for Sally Field. At age 65 she played Mary Todd Lincoln in
Lincoln (2012)
who was only 45 when Lincoln died at age 56.
